Attendance

Every day of school is important for children's learning. Research clearly demonstrates the link between regular attendance and educational progress and attainment. All at William Cobbett Primary School are committed to encouraging and supporting parents and carers to ensure their children attend school and any problems that prevent this are identified and acted on promptly. Our Home School Link Worker and/or Inclusion Lead will work with families where attendance is a concern.

Leave of absence, for absence other than illness, must be requested using the leave of absence form available from the school office. Leave of absence will only be approved by the headteacher in exceptional circumstances. Family holidays do not constitute an exceptional circumstance and will not be approved.

Illness

In the case of illness, please inform the school of the reason for absence on a daily basis by 9:30am at the latest. 

If a child has sickness or diarrhoea, they should not return to school until 48 hours after the final episode.
