Y3 Reading Challenge
WE LOOK FORWARD TO STARTING THIS ONCE MORE WHEN THE LIBRARY CAN BE FULLY ACCESSED BY THE CHILDREN.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Year 3 Reading Challenge was really successful! This challenge inspired many Year 3 children to read and a range of different books alongside their current reading scheme. Lots of children gained their certificates in recognition of the wonderful reading they have done . Well done to all the children who have taken part!
For the Summer Term we have provided an adapted home-learning checklist. On the checklist, you will find a selection of authors and books relevant to your child and the home-learning environment. If your child completes 4 books, they will gain a Bronze certificate, 8 books will award them a Silver certificate and to achieve the Gold certificate they must successfully read 12 books from their checklist. The children’s certificates will be presented to them at the end of the Summer Term.
If you already have lots of lovely books and resources at home, please feel free to use any of these on your Summer Reading Challenge. As ever, when using online resources, please make sure you monitor your children and make sure they are making age appropriate choices! We have tried to make this challenge as fun as possible and you should be able to complete it using the resources below. Any problems accessing resources or sourcing particular books, feel free to contact the school library at:
firstname.lastname@example.org and they may be able to help!
We look forward to another term of avid reading and we can’t wait to hear about the children's favourite reads!
