Children are growing up in an increasingly technological world and it is essential that they become familiar and confident with technology as a whole and the opportunities that they provide. At William Cobbett Primary School children will develop the skills and capability to use and apply computing tools to create, find, explore, analyses, manipulate, exchange and present information responsibility, creatively and with discrimination.
At the Infant site the children have a bank of ipads, the use of which is timetabled to ensure equal access is maintained for all the children.
The Junior site has a fully equipped Computing suite. Classes are timetabled to use this one hour a week for a designated computing lesson. The Infant classes can also access the suite as appropriate. In addition to the suite there are three mobile banks of networked laptops and sets of Learn Pads at the junior site to allow the use of computing as a tool to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum.
All year groups cover aspects of e-safety and all classes take part in an e-safety week (including Safer Internet Day). Parents are asked to attend an e-safety workshop so that they are aware of ever change ways that we can ensure the safety of the children, both at home and at school.
